Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris represents about 6% of the total of AOC Alsace wines.

Its aromas are lightly smoked, its colour is pronounced yellow and its lengthy

aftertaste mean it is one of the rare white wines able to replace (and even betterPinot Gris label

a red wine!) with numerous dishes - notably with white meats. Pinot Gris wines

generally have an excellent ability to age.

The wine is vinified in the traditional way for white wine, with the temperature maintained

at 18 deg. C. during fermentation. Much emphasis is attached to the pre-fermentation stage

of vinification with 'static debourbage', allowing a lower 'indice de turbidite'.

The winemakers notes:

A straw-yellow 'robe' with hints of green

A delicate nose evoking yellow fruits with slight 'smoky' notes

On the palate, full and very aromatic, seductive and evocative of orange peel and sea-food.

Excellent long finish

Can be kept 3 - 5 years.

Excellent accompaniment to foie gras, caviar, blanquette de veau, cold meats, charcuterie, civet de veau.

Serve chilled.
