Chénas

A favourite of Louis XIII the Chenas vineyards are situated where there used to be the old oak forests, and they produce the rarest and most sought after of the Beaujolais Crus. These are seductive, spicy wines which age well. Ruby-red in colour with hints of garnet, the wines are full-bodied with floral, woody notes and a velvety texture.

Chenas and its hillside neighbour - Moulin a Vent are top-of-the-range.

Best served lightly chilled with game, meats in sauce, strong cheeses.
