Cahors

Mas del Perie is located on the chalky slopes of Cahors. It is a new family domaine born in 2004, producing wines from the Malbec grape variety, planted on the 'red clay' of Cahors - one of its best terroirs.

Grape variety: 100% Malbec

Terroir: red clay-chalk

Yield: 40 hl/ha

Vinification: manuel selection, cold maceration, 35 days in vat at 28 deg C, final maceration at 25 deg C.

Rests on its lees for 12 months.

'Tradition' 2006 vintage won gold at Vignerons Independants 2009, and Vins de Sud-Ouest 2009. Bronze at Paris 2008. 91 / 100 Parker points.

The 'robe' is deep red, almost black.

The nose is intense and powerful, with spicy aromatics, black pepper, small black berry fruits.

On the palate round and spicy with a hint of tannin.

Drinking well now.
